Village Bridge: Between MAPP and First Placement

Are you in the place where you completed MAPP but haven't yet received your license or first placement? Foster Village Charlotte has spent years gathering resources, uncovering patterns, and discovering the best content to help new foster parents succeed. We're a team of experienced foster parents, child development experts, and therapists. We get it. We've been there. Let's help you launch well.

Meeting others beginning their fostering journey is a lifeline as you begin taking placements. This group allows you to meet others across different agencies, building your network of support. Completing this workshop also give participants the ability to be linked with a seasoned foster parent to serve as a mentor during your first 4-6 months of being an active foster parent. These individuals, known as Village Guides, bring relational and experiential support with the objective of helping you navigating the complexity of the child welfare system. Thanks to Charlotte Mecklenburg Community Foundation, this is a grant-funded program and is free of charge for participants but 80-100% participation is required for those that register.
