Understanding ADHD in Children Experiencing Foster Care

Join us for a special three- part workshop and support group led by Katie Robinson, Foster Village Charlotte’s Director of Programs and Advocacy, as we explore ADHD and its unique impact on children who have experienced foster care.

This workshop is designed for foster and kinship caregivers who want to better understand neurodivergence and learn practical, trauma-informed strategies to support their children.

What You’ll Gain:

  • A deeper understanding of how ADHD presents in children with trauma histories

  • Insights into the brain science behind ADHD and its connection to early adversity

  • Practical strategies for creating structure, emotional regulation, and connection

  •  Tools to navigate school, therapy, and advocacy for your child’s needs

We know that parenting a neurodivergent child can feel overwhelming, but you’re not alone! Join us for this informative and encouraging conversation as we equip you with tangible tools and support for the journey.

Session Schedule:

  1. Session 1: In-person (June 22nd)

  2. Session 2: Virtual (June 23rd)

  3. Session 3: Virtual (June 30th)

We ask participants to attend all three sessions to ensure a cohesive and supportive experience.
