Power of Play Workshop

  • Watershed 2101 Shenandoah Ave Charlotte, NC, 28205 United States (map)

Play with Purpose. Strengthen Your Bonds. Care for You.

Parenting children who have experienced trauma can be both rewarding and challenging. This workshop is designed to equip you, as a foster or kinship caregiver, with practical tools to support your own well-being while navigating the unique needs of the children in your care.

During this session, you will experience:

  1. Play-based techniques to lower your own stress levels and reset during tough moments.

  2. Strategies for building stronger bonds with children through intentional, connection-driven play.

  3. Ways to process and release the emotional weight that caregiving can carry.

  4. Simple self-care practices that fit into your busy schedule and help you sustain your role with energy and joy.

Take this time to invest in yourself, connect with fellow caregivers, and leave feeling recharged and equipped with tools to thrive in the season ahead. Join us afterwards for a community-style dinner, connect with other caregivers, and leave with practical tools and takeaways to strengthen connection in your home.

Childcare is provided for children of all ages, and each participant will receive a certificate for 2 hours toward foster care relicensing.
