Bridging the Gap: Building Stronger Connections Through Shared Parenting

  • Watershed 2101 Shenandoah Ave Charlotte, NC, 28205 United States (map)

Join us for a powerful and practical workshop designed to support foster and kinship caregivers in building healthier, more connected relationships with everyone involved in a child's care journey through shared parenting.

At Foster Village Charlotte, we believe children thrive when the adults in their lives work together with empathy, respect, and a shared commitment to their well-being. This workshop will equip participants with practical tools, trauma-informed communication strategies, and the chance to hear from and connect with others walking a similar path.

Through guided conversations, interactive activities, and real-life examples, we’ll explore:

  • What shared parenting looks like in foster and kinship care

  • The benefits of working together during times of transition

  • Common challenges—and creative solutions

  • How to build trust and communicate with care

Whether you’re new to caregiving or have years of experience, this workshop offers a safe and supportive space to learn, reflect, and grow alongside others. Childcare and dinner are provided, and each family will leave with tools and takeaways to strengthen connection moving forward.

2 hours certificate will be provided toward relicensing
